One classic moment in Super Bowl history is Don Beebe sprinting down field, even though his Bills trailed 52-17, to strip Leon Lett of the ball after a fumble recovery in Super Bowl XXVII. Beebe played for the Buffalo Bills in all four of their consecutive Super Bowl losses. For which team, his last, did Beebe finally win a Super Bowl title?

Metro Detroit Saints Football team donates 1,000 Bars of Soap

Detroit (June 13, 2007) - Metro Detroit Saints, a minor league professional football team, will donate over 1,000 bars of soap to the Detroit Decency Initiative -- S.O.A.P.: Stop Offensive and Abusive language in Hip-Hop Music through Personal Responsibility.

The campaign is asking organizations to join the effort and be responsible for 100 to 500 bars of soap, and individual Detroiters donate one to 100 bars.

"The Metro Detroit Saints is taking a strong stand for women and the community," said Tara Young, "Each bar of soap represents hundreds of men, who longer want disrespectful language against women in their music."

Reverend Horace Sheffield, who serves as National Action Network National Field Organizer along with Young will attend the Metro Detroit Saints game Saturday, June 16, 2007, at 4:30 p.m. and receive the donation.

The Metro Detroit Saints will play the Wayne County Wolverines at St. Benedictine High School Football Field located near Outer Drive between 6 & 7 Mile Road and the presentation will be made during half-time.

People and organizations can still get involved. Soap bars can be delivered at the following S.O.A.P. sites:

Detroit Branch of the NAACP * 2990 E. Grand Boulevard
New Galilee Baptist Church * 11241 Gunston Street (near Gratiot)
Last Chance Academy -- 6311 West Chicago, Detroit

Once the campaign is complete, National Action Network * Michigan Affiliate will donate the bars of soap to the YWCA shelters.

For information about the Decency Initiative, call the National Action Network * Michigan office at 313.491.0230 or listen to Revered Sheffield's weekly broadcast on WGPR 107.5, every Saturday from 9-10 a.m.

ANSWER TO LAST POLL QUESTION
Southpaw Jim Zorn was the first quarterback of the expansion Seattle Seahawks in 1976. He led the team until 1984 when he was replaced by Dave Krieg. For which team was Zorn playing when he threw his final pass?
The correct answer was Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Zorn appeared in one game for the Bucs in 1987 and threw for only 199 yards with two interceptions. This came a year after playing the 1986 season north of the border for the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg franchise.
